I know that I have done a post about Marvel and Marvel properties already but considering that I finished Jessica Jones yesterday and the new trailer for Captain America: Civil War also came out yesterday I thought I would comment about them and also talk about something else that I got yesterday but I think that I would leave that to the end of the post. Ca
Warning: there might be spoilers if you have watched Jessica Jones yet
I enjoyed Jessica Jones a lot and though it took me a shorter amount of time to watch than it that it took me watch Daredevil I still think that Daredevil is the better show. I might re-evaluate that though as I might watch both series again back to back. I am not sure when that will though as I might watch it with my bf if I can convince him to watch Daredevil. He refuses to watch it because of Ben Affleck and the bad Daredevil movie that he made. My bf really doesn’t like Ben Affleck which is going to be an issue when the Batman V Superman comes out next year. He also finds the premise preposterous.
Now back to Jessica. First of great representation from Australian talent though admittedly they all had to put on American accents which they pulled off wonderfully. If you wondering who I am talking about they would Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse and Wil Traval as Will Simpson. I was particularly impressed with Eka Darville and his performance as Malcolm and I was pleased that he was not killed and enjoyed his rather odd relationship in the end with Robyn. Of course Krysten Ritter, David Tennant and Mike Colter were also all wonderful as Jessica, Killgrave and Luke Cage. Actually I don’t think that I can fault any member of the cast. I loved seeing Claire Temple from Daredevil in the last episode as well.
The show showed off New York better than Daredevil did but then Daredevil was more set in the night while Jessica Jones had a lot more in the day time. It made me miss New York a lot. I really need to get back to New York sometime. I just need to get some money and knock out my bf to do it though.
Now moving on to the other Marvel property in the Captain America: Civil War trailer. I will say straight away that I have only seen it once and on an iPhone and I do intend to watch it again on a bigger screen. I will also attach it to this post for anyone viewing pleasure. I did like it and it was good to see that it is a Captain America story and not an Avengers story as I think a lot of fans out their worried about that fact due to how much of the cast have connections to the Avengers. It was also good to see that Bucky will play a major part in this story as I like Bucky but that may have to do with me having a soft spot for Sebastian Stan and the fact that he was the Mad Hatter in Once Upon A Time.
Alrighty the last thing that happened yesterday for me was that I bought the new Adele album yesterday through iTunes. I listened to it today and though it might not have been as good as 21 it was still great. I have been saying for years now that she has the best singing voice in the world. Well in my opinion anyway. Actually I think the two best female singers in the world right now come from the UK the other being Florence Welsh of Florence and the Machine.

Alright so despite the medication my anxiety is quite high today and am having problems with concentration despite my work load. Also having trouble with decision making though admittedly it a rather frivolous thing that I have to decide on which is whether to buy Ant-Man through iTunes now or wait a week and buy a physical copy. The physical copy that I buy will have a digital copy as well so either way I will have it digitally it is just whether I can wait a week or more likely two weeks cause I can’t guarantee that I will have the money next week to get it.
You would think that with my bringing up Ant-Man that today’s post will be something Pop-Culture related and maybe even in relation to Marvel and maybe even Jessica Jones which I am watching by the way and only have two episodes left but actually I am going to talk real life matters today and about who I usually talk about when I talk RL…My sister.
She still has not filled her prescription and is apparently going cold turkey in her quest to give up smoking and that is not going to be fun. She was kicked out again on Friday night due to the fact that she had made small holes in the walls of her room due to her not having cigarettes but that did not last long as she returned Saturday night. She is allowed to stay under the proviso that she not further damage the house and swear. I think there are others but I can’t remember what they are at the moment.
She has also been talking about the fact that no one shows her any respect and we should all respect her. The only problem is that shows no respect to any one and it is very hard to respect someone that does not reciprocate. I mean how can you respect someone swears and carries on. How can you respect someone when they scream at you and are calling your mother a bitch and a slut especially in the middle of the street where a neighbour could hear you. How can you respect someone who is so selfish and demanding that you have to drop whatever you are doing so that you have to drive them up the road to get smokes or go to the library.
She treats everything in the house as it is hers, actually she treats the house is general as if she owns it and has actually told my mother to leave her house. If she buys something like food for the house it is hers and hers alone and will get angry with you for using but is ok for her to open and use anything and everything. It is like everything that is hers is hers and everything that is yours is hers as well.

It is has been a hectic couple of weeks that has been the main reason why I have not posted a lot.
First of my family is back from Hong Kong and my week without them was interesting to say the least. I did not do as planned and watch Supernatural or Flash live due to tiredness and the fact that I totally forgot that we had dinner plans arranged for the night that the Flash aired. I did however watch Arrow live so ‘Yah’.
My anxiety also flared up mightily on the Wednesday so much so that I felt like I was going to have a panic attack while walking my dogs on the Thursday and forced me to have a day off on Friday so that I can go and see my doctor and once again be prescribed medication for it. It is has helped a lot though since being back on it.
My sister behaved herself while they were away and went on a baking spree. She had also decided to give up smoking and went and saw a doctor about it and got medication for it but has yet to fill the prescription for it and so is still begging for money and smokes. She also has to look for jobs and decided that she wants to be a chef. With no tech looking for work is not going to be easy for her which means that is asking to use everyone else’s and that is annoying.
This week has been a busy week in general in relation to work. I have had very little time to think or take a breather. This morning is the only real time that I have been able to breathe a little but once it hits 10 that will end I will be nose to the grindstone once more.
My mother walks the dogs every morning except Tuesdays because she starts work early on that day and I have agreed to walk the dogs on that day for her and then accompany her every second Saturday and Sunday when we don’t have the girls. When we do have them I have to keep an eye on the youngest who is an early riser. Every other day I will go to the gym because I have a membership and have not been able to use it due to timing and the season.
This weekend is supposed to be a scorcher and I am not looking forward to it. I do have an appointment with my psychologist tomorrow in which my BF will also be attending but other than that I have nothing planned, not that I like making plans. I want to go swimming but can’t due to issues. I also would love to binge watch Jessica Jones this weekend but doubt that that is going to happen.
I am really hoping that things settle down a little in the lead up to Christmas.

I have threatened in my previous posts that I will do a post on DC and my preferences to the characters from these comics opposed to those in Marvel. Today is that day I believe and this week I have the rare opportunity to be able to watch Arrow and the Flash TV shows live instead of waiting for the iTunes availability that usually comes on the Friday after the airing (The Flash airs on Wednesday and Arrow on Thursday here) but sometimes it can take up to the Sunday.
The reason I have this mighty ability this week is because of the fact that my stepfather is away and thus does not have control of the remote control. My sister has no care of what I watch in the evening and I am not going to care what my BF wants. Hell I might even be able to watch Supernatural live tonight instead of tomorrow when it appears on the station stream tomorrow. That will all depend on other factors like me being able to get a good version of Once Upon A Time (unfortunately I have to torrent this one as the station that has the rights to this show are not treating it’s Aussie fans well and has not even aired the 4th season of the show) and what time my BF will be getting home tonight as he is going to visit his brother after work.
Well back to DC and why there characters are more preferable to me than Marvel. To be honest I am really not sure why. I guess I feel more invested in the DC characters than the Marvel ones. I like the X-Men characters very much and I grew up watching X-Men cartoons and my brother used to read X-Men comics. I only really saw the Batman 1960’s TV and the movies from the 80’s and 90’s and Superman from the 80’s. I loved the early X-Men movies as well. It has only been in the last 5 to 10 years that I have really come to appreciate and love DC and in particular Batman and think that is partially because of Kevin Smith.
His love of Batman got me interested in Batman and the character somehow resonates with me. I just think that he is believable and that he could really be a real person unlike other Superheroes that we see. The same goes for Green Arrow in a sense. I think it is the morality of the DC heroes that I appreciate as I think in someone ways Marvel Heroes are a little more selfish. I am probably one of the few that absolutely can’t stand Spiderman and don’t actually see the appeal or the fuss that is made about the character.
I am not the biggest of Superman fans and I never watched Smallville (though my BF did and he wants me to watch it) but I did watch Lois and Clark (Dean Cain was/is hot!!). I am, however, enjoying the Supergirl show, another show I have to torrent because it is not available here yet and I probably won’t be able to watch live though I will buy it on iTunes if it becomes available. I really don’t get the hate levelled at Aquaman as I think he has more going for him in terms of powers than some others do and his Marvel equivalent is probably Thor and he doesn’t get the hate. I also loved the Justice League cartoon movie Throne of Atlantis and Jason Momoa looks awesome as Aquaman in the upcoming movie/s.
I haven’t seen all that much of him other than a couple of the DC cartoon movies released but I am really liking Cyborg as well, yes I know he is in Teen Titans but I haven’t seen a lot of that yet as it has not become available on iTunes, DVD or any of the streaming services, but his character in the movies is very good. I am also gaining a great liking to Wonder Woman as well and not just because she is a female superhero. I also like the Greek mythos behind her because I am part Greek myself and Greek myths has always interested me (Percy Jackson, anyone).
I think that I will it at that for now but I reserve the right to revisit and talk more of my love of Batman in particular and also DC villains and in particular Joker and Harley Quinn.
Song of the Day
There is nothing I love more than flying so you could save that I love travelling. Unfortunately I have not really been on what I would call a proper holiday which involves flying in years. I was on a plane last year when I went to my cousins wedding in Melbourne but I really wouldn’t consider that a holiday as such.
That last holiday I went on would have been when I went to America with my mother 4 years ago. The trip was a spur of the moment trip and it also coincided with my birthday so I spent that particular birthday in Las Vegas. That was one of the best holidays I have ever had. It was only to Vegas and Anaheim but still it was a lot of fun because it just Mum and me and we were able to do what we want when we wanted to.
On that particular trip we saw two shows in Vegas the Cirque Du Soleil Beatles show Love and The Lion King, for the first time. We also went to shopping outlet and in Anaheim we went to Disneyland (duh!!) and we also took the ferry across to Catalina Island.
The holiday before that was once again to the US. It started off as a trip that I was going to take with my cousin but he pulled out on me and ended up being a trip by myself. It was a Contiki tour that started in Anaheim that went up to Vegas then through the Grand Canyon, New Mexico down to Texas, Memphis, New Orleans, Orlando, up through Savannah to Washington DC passing through Philly and finishing up in New York. The trip started at the beginning of December 2005 and finished on Christmas Day. I stayed on however in New York until after New Year because essentially that was the point of the trip New Year in New York. To this day New York is probably my most favourite place that I have ever visited though I did love Savannah and the Grand Canyon.
I did the Contiki tour because it seemed like the most logical thing for a single female to do as I would be others around my own age and you know safety in numbers and I was right in thinking that. I was however one of the few that was not really into the partying side of the tour the drinking and clubbing. I was there for the actual travel aspect of it. In someways I don’t really understand why anyone would consistently get blotto and then be expected to be up early the next morning to travel a several hundred miles with maybe a little stop over to do some kind of activity only to get blotto again and so the same thing the next day. I remember there were three English girls on the tour who would do this and I called them (in private) mermaids because I was sure they could drink underwater.
The purpose of this recollection is because my mother is going on a holiday herself this week and I am not going. She, my stepfather and two of my nieces are going to Hong Kong on Sunday. My stepfather had promised to take my nieces to Disney and since they my mother, who despite the fact that she was not the one to make the promise felt obligated to keep it, made the arrangements and paid for it. Since they could not afford to go to either of the US Disney’s, though my mother would love to go to Disneyworld, or the one in France they decided to go to the Hong Kong one as it not that expensive to go to and reasonably close as the youngest out of the two girls is rather impatient.
This of course leaves me home alone. Well not really alone as my boyfriend is staying the week and my crazy sister will be around as well. This of course is not really good my mental state. I am not on any medication at the moment and my insides are playing up big time. I have also essentially been put in charge and though I have accepted the responsibility I doubt that my sister is going to pay any attention to the decree or my authority as she doesn’t listen to anything that anyone says and if is listening she will take offense to it. Last night when she was reminded of this fact she stated again her age and that she feels like the she is prison despite the fact that she is free to go and do whatever she likes. She has also been put on notice and if she plays up in any way I have instructed to call the police which to be honest I would do gladly.
