Spooky Badger

Since I am not sure if I will be posting again before Halloween on Saturday I thought I would use this post to celebrate the holiday and spooky things.

In Australia Halloween isn’t really celebrated though admittedly it is growing in popularity. I do remember however when growing up in Melbourne that we did go Trick or Treating but when we moved to Sydney it wasn’t a done thing. Now I live in Brisbane and we have never had kids come to our door asking for treats though we always have something set out just in case.

This year I will attending at Halloween party thrown by my younger brother. It looks like it is going to be a big do, all up. They just bought the house earlier this year so it is also a house warming party as such. I will probably just wear my Harry Potter robes and carry one of the wands that I own as a costume though it is not compulsory to wear a costume.

I am not a fan of spooky/horror movies at all I have seen a couple in my life time which I have willingly and unwillingly watched. Strangely enough I do like to read about them on Wikipedia and read reviews for them as well. I have probably seem more anime and TV with horror themes than actual movies. Some of the anime that I have watched in full or seen episodes off just as a test to see if I will watch the whole thing are:

Black Blood Brothers

Ghost Hound

Ghost Hunt

Hellsing

High School of the Dead – Watched most of it but didn’t like it all that much due to the women all having big boobs

Paranoia Agent

Blue Exorcist – Both the series and the movie

Blood: the Last Vampire and Blood+

Vampire Hunter D

Tokyo Ghoul – I have watched a couple of eps of this and might go back to it

Deadman Wonderland – I have watched a couple of eps of this and might go back to it

Future Diary – I have watched a couple of eps of this and might go back to it

Supernatural: The Anime Series

With that last one I am I guess I should include Supernatural the TV show as one of the horror related programs that I have watched. I am up to date with the show though the most recent episode I haven’t seen yet as it has not aired here and won’t until Monday. I like the show and own the whole series on iTunes and have a version all the Pop Vinyl characters. Sam and Dean guard my desk at work along with Darryl Dixon from the Walking Dead, which I will get to later. I also have Castiel, Crowley and Charlie at home. I also listen to a re-watch podcast for them that I should have mentioned yesterday but forgot. It is called Supernatural: The Road So far and is hosted by two girls Sam and Malik though Sam used to host with a guy named Matt who had to leave though he comes and hosts every now and again. They have a great Facebook group as well.

Now The Walking Dead… Look I am really not that into zombies, though I do love iZombie which I guess we can add in a way to the list but that has a lot little more humour in it than Supernatural and definitely more than The Walking Dead. I have not seen all of the show. I got through season 4 and then lost interest but at one stage, especially in the first couple of seasons I was really into it and remember having this aha moment after Shane died in relation to the disease but sort of forgot about it. Might have to re-watch the first two seasons again to see if I can get that moment back and work on a proper theory. I just need to find the time…

Other horror themed shows that I have watched in full or not are:

Constantine

Grimm

The X-Files

Twin Peaks

Fringe

Song of the Day
